Northend United 4 Oxford Sunnyside 1    Saturday 17th February 2018

Northend Tigers were back in action this week against a good Oxford Sunnyside team. Both teams started well, but it was Northend who scored first with a great through ball from Luke McGaughey to Ben Adams who flipped it past the Oxford keeper to give the Tigers the lead. The Tigers found the ball again and his time, after a few great passes, Ryan Campbell found Ben Adams who planted the ball past the advancing Oxford keeper to give Northend a two-goal cushion. Just as it looked like they were cruising, Northend lost control of the ball on the edge of the penalty box to let Oxford pull a goal back. Half time 2-1

Into the second half and the Tigers took control again with some nice passing football. After some good pressing play, an Oxford defender handled the ball to give the Tigers a penalty. Luke McGaughey stepped up and fired it into back of the net to restore the Tigers two goal cushion.  It was all Northend at this point in the game and a great through ball from Archie McGreevey to Luke McGaughey who slipped the ball to Ben Adams and he found the net again for his hat-trick. Full time 1-4

Special mention to Connor Wilson who stepped up for his debut in nets today and made some great saves at vital times in the match.

Loughgall 6 Northend Tigers 0    Saturday 13th january 2017

Northend were up against Loughgall this week following the League's winter break. Northend started the first half very strong playing some good football. Ben Adams struck a free kick which just skimmed the Loughgall upright. However, it was Loughgall who eventually took the lead, following a mix-up in the Northend defence.
The Northend Tigers fought back with a good chance coming from Callum Francey which again was just wide of the Loughgall upright. Loughgall responded with some good attacking play and added a second goal just before half time. Half time 2-0

The second half started much the same, with the Tigers playing some nice football but just weren't getting the rub of the green, when well placed in front of goal. However, it wasn't Northend's day as Loughgall ran out 6-0 winners, scoring three of those goals in the last ten minutes of the match, as the young Blues visibly tired in the closing minutes. Full time 6-0
